As full-service wedding planners, we often pride ourselves on having out fingers on the pulse. If it’s happening in the wedding industry (and specifically in Northern Georgia or North & South Carolina), we want to know about it. This is why, almost 4 months ago, we published a blog post with some of our top 2022 wedding planning advice. We stand by the advice in that post. Decide on your priorities, and book your top vendors early. But since then, the wedding industry has taken this idea of a “wedding boom” and absolutely ran with it. Today, we want to talk about the wedding boom of 2022, and what it REALLY means for you.
But first, who are you taking advice from? The wedding boom might look different depending on where you are actually planning your wedding. Borrowed and Blue is a wedding planning firm based in the gorgeous North Georgia mountains. We plan unique and memorable weddings for couples from Atlanta to North Carolina. We have been doing this for almost a decade now, and we are incredibly passionate about the work that we do. You can learn more about our incredible team here, or if you are interested in working with us, make sure to get in touch here.
Although we still believe in the benefits of securing your most important wedding vendors a little earlier than usual, the wedding industry has taken the idea of a “wedding boom” and started pressuring newly engaged couples to feel incredibly anxious about their 2022/2023 wedding planning. PLEASE do not buy into that fear tactic. We value transparency with our incredible couples and want to be crystal clear. At Borrowed and Blue, we are not overworked. We are not overbooked. In fact, our business model prevents us from being in a position that would prevent us from giving you our undivided attention.
Although we can’t speak for every wedding vendor (and every location), we do pride ourselves on the relationships (and open communication) we have with Georgia’s top wedding vendors. We can say with some confidence, that you do not have to take out loans to book all 15 of your vendors this week out of the fear that they will all be gone if you wait a few more weeks. This is our job as wedding planners. Please don’t go into debt for a false sense of urgency.
This is our specialty. We pride ourselves in sourcing the most wonderful, talented and competent vendors that suit your needs in terms of budget and aesthetic. When you are ready to start planning your wedding, a wedding planner should be your first hire. We WILL find the right wedding vendors (with availability) for your wedding day.
Lastly, please don’t forget to ENJOY your engagement! This is a special time and should be ENJOYED. When you are ready to start planning, we will be here for you. We have tons of resources on our blog for you to check out at your leisure. We will never tell you to panic. It’s not enough that we help you plan an incredible wedding, we also value the process being enjoyable. You deserve enjoyable.
As far as our brides are concerned, our vow to you is that we will always act out of transparency. If a move needs to be made quick, we will tell you! If you need to overnight a payment because of the fear that there may be a booking war on a particular vendor, we..will..tell..you.. You don’t need to buy into all of the fear and panic happening on social media right now. As always, a huge thank you for trusting us, our team, and our knowledge with your wedding. We don’t take it lightly and we appreciate you more than you know! And thank you to Toast Events for being a voice to this growing and completely false sense of panic that is created for our brides right now. We are all in this together!
