2022 Wedding Advice (Hint: Start Booking Now!)

Now that the 2021 wedding season is officially in full swing, we are bringing you 2022 wedding advice! As Georgia wedding planners, it has been such a breath of fresh air to be doing what we love again. Seriously. We feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what we love every single day. Couples come to us with a bunch of dreams and we help them design a day celebrating their love with their closest family and friends. All of your wildest ideas, questions, concerns – share them with us!

We believe a wedding day should be as unique as the couple celebrating it and we LOVE to exceed our couples expectations. If you are looking for an experienced wedding planning team, we would love to connect with you here. Borrowed and Blue has been planning Georgia weddings (and surrounding areas like North Carolina and South Carolina!) for over nine years.

Because so many 2020 wedding couples postponed their weddings to 2021 and 2022, availability is more limited than ever (not just with us – with all wedding vendors!). Today, we wanted to collect some of our best advice for couples planning weddings in 2022 (or even 2023!). Although you have a bit more time than a more traditional wedding planning timeline, the year will move fast and there are a few things you are going to want to get confirmed as quickly as possible (without ever settling – of course).

Book Your Wedding Planner First

Okay, we have talked about this on the blog before and to be honest, it’s no exclusive to 2022 and 2023 couples. It’s SO important to hire your wedding planner as early in the wedding planning process as possible. Booking your venue or saving the date with other vendors before hiring a wedding planner is a mistake. Listen, weddings can be expensive. And although we believe they are worth every penny, the place to “save” is definitely not someone who helps you plan! We know that our profession can sometimes seem like a luxury (and in some ways it is) but if you are spending a significant amount of money on your wedding, which most of our couples are, why not hire someone?

Bonus: We also use the latest & greatest in wedding planning software to help keep you organized (so you can focus on just being excited!)

Book Your Wedding Venue

Have you booked your Georgia wedding venue yet? As soon as you have a wedding planner, a budget, and a guest list, the next step is finding the perfect wedding venue. We have a lot of advice on the blog when it comes to wedding venues so don’t worry. We know that it’s one of the first decisions you make when you start planning and it is arguably one of the most important. If you are looking for recommendations, make sure to check out our post with the best wedding venues in Georgia. For advice on choosing the right wedding venue for you, head here!

Secure Your Georgia Wedding Rentals

If you are getting married in 2022 and design is important to you, one of the next things you are going to want to do is secure your Georgia wedding rentals. First – did you know that Borrowed and Blue offers wedding rentals too? We have a variety of items to complete your tablescapes and centerpieces (as well as some other wedding décor). The best way to find out more about our rentals is by contacting us here or following us on Instagram (check out our two new bars here and here – aren’t they stunning?).

Invite Your Wedding Guests!

The same way wedding vendors are getting booked up in advance, your wedding guests are busy too! After a year of staying at home, who isn’t excited to plan their next vacation? Although wedding invitations are typically sent 3-4 months in advance, you can send out save the dates as soon as you have your wedding venue booked and guest list finalized. Trust us – your guests won’t mind a little extra notice!

Georgia Wedding Planners

Recently, Brides Magazine talks about a “wedding boom” and it’s true. Couples are lining up to tie the knot this year, next year, and yes – we are even booking for 2023. These are just a few tips as you start to plan, but the biggest piece of advice we have as Georgia wedding planners is don’t do this alone! Seriously, the team at Borrowed and Blue is standing by to help you plan an design what is sure to be one of the most incredible days of your life. Don’t wait to get started!
